The run down
from Rauer Kogel (between Ochsengarten und Hoch Oetz). Has become
a classic ride. Brilliant flowing riding, potential for some higher
speeds, some variations possible. Would also be the perfect place
for an official bike track, when they get round to accepting us. The
Oetz lift being perfect.
First discovered
by Jay Bennet and myself back in 1994, we had tried to get to the
top of the Acherkögel from Haiming, with bikes, over Haimingerberg
up to Biederfelderhütte then on foot. We were very tired and
ended up on a wrong route up the Acherkögel. Adventually deciding
to turn back, got the bikes and while biking down I stopped to study
the map, which led us to the downhill. At the time the run was almost
too hard for me, but Jay styled it. These days in the new school its
a standard fast flowing run.
Options of
finishing with the Auer Klamm or Schlatt direct to Oetz and lift.
