Whilst in Australia I done a solo trip from Cairns to Cooktown, and that was before they made a proper road. Lots of people said that it was too dangerous, with croc infested river crossings, etc,. It all went well, had a great time, until I tried to ride back on the inland road. 70 km of straight road without a change in sight managed to drive me mad. The road back goes through an old gold rush area called Palmerston North....
