IMPROTANT :: The legal aspects of riding on the trails described are not clear, and all riders proceed at their own risk. At the same time respect should be shown to anybody met on these trails. Avoid confrontation with the land owners and general public. By respect I mean that the rider should control his/her speed and even dismount and push their bikes.

Here you will find descriptions of Biking runs in Tirol, with the emphasis on steep, technical, continuous, trails of around 1000 meters height difference and mostly with a ski lift to get you to the top! The idea being that you spend more of your time riding downhill than up. These days with heavy full-suspension bikes (up to 20Kg) a lot of people don't even consider cycling uphill, its a push up or nothing. I personally like to keep my status as an all round biker, where 1000 meters of uphill is also okay. Although many of my friends say that I am riding well and need a big bike. I am not sure, I already ride well and fast and with a big bike I might start scaring myself a bit too much. We shall see what time brings. If you are looking for bike tours then HERE.

OETZ:
The Oetz valley is a beautiful area, In Oetz itself is a ski lift that will take you from 820 meters up to Hoch Oetz at 2020 meters, from here are many possibilities, the main idea is trying to avoid forest tracks and find the steep singletrails.

HAIMINGER BERG:
Okay no lift, and you can cycle up if you want, but its a nasty 1000meter uphill climb, and it's recommended to have some protection on for this run. We ride here with car/bus assistance (or combined with other routes from Hoch Oetz and 200 meters uphill on road).

INNSBRUCK.
The official Nordpark mountainbike downhill trail has been closed to the general public for the two consecutive summers. The Innsbruck scene goes on, using the Igls (from Bier Stind'l) tram it is possible to tram up to Lanser See (or the one before) every hour (tram 13mins after hour) and ride the many variations down again.
